Design

Exterior Features: The base model of the Kia K5 comes with an available panoramic sunroof with a tilt function that the Accord doesn't offer. The K5 also comes with standard heated exterior mirrors for better visibility in cold weather. Interior Space: Passenger comfort is vital for any everyday sedan. Whether you're driving with family or just on your own, the right amount of space can make all the difference. The Accord offers 105.6 cubic feet of passenger volume, which can shrink to 102.7 cubic feet with the 2.0T trim. The K5 delivers 105.3 cubic feet throughout the lineup, ensuring you enjoy a standard way of enjoying your drive. You will also have more head, hip, and front legroom when driving the new K5.

Technology and Safety

  • Technology: With both lineups now offering standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, the Kia K5 still manages to set itself apart. The Honda Accord is new with an eight-inch touchscreen, but the lineup includes it as the only option. The 2021 K5 is also standard with an eight-inch touchscreen, but you'll also have the choice of upgrading to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with easy-to-use controls and more space to work with! The K5 will also pump your music through an available 12-speaker Bose® Premium Audio System while the Honda Accord maxes out at 10-speakers in its 450-watt sound system.
  • Driver Assistance Features: Both lineups are packed with the latest safety technology, allowing you to drive with confidence thanks to features like lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection. However, the new K5 adds a few features that the Accord doesn't include, such as Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert or the available Highway Driving Assist.

Performance

  • Engine Performance: Both the K5 and the Accord come with a direct-injection inline-four engine. The new K5 comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, while the Honda comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that produces 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. Both lineups also offer an upgraded turbocharged engine, but the K5 holds the edge with 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque - a capability the Honda can't match.
  • All-Wheel Drive: The Kia K5 offers an all-wheel drive system, allowing you to handle the worst the road can throw at you even if your adventures take you off-road. The Honda Accord, while very capable, doesn't offer an all-wheel drive system at this time.

See for Yourself

While the new Honda Accord offers some capabilities that the new K5 doesn't match, you can still expect more space, more technology, and more convenience when you choose the new K5. If you want to learn more about the new K5, then contact our sales team to schedule a test drive today!
