Design
Kia hasn’t just used an eco-friendly fuel method on the pocket-sized Niro. All 2024 Niro Plug-In Hybrids have dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar adjustments, and a wrapped steering wheel.
Auto rain-sensing wipers, heated side mirrors with turn signals, and heated front seats are also standard. However, heated rear seats are available for both models. A dual-level cargo floor offers additional storage space with a cover that protects its contents from prying eyes.
Performance
Both trims have a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and full parallel hybrid system. The engine delivers 104 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor alone has 83 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Combined, you’ll get 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid is front-wheel drive with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, 33-mile all-electric driving range, remote start, hill-start assist control, and downhill brake control.
Technology
The 2024 Niro Plug-In Hybrid base model has a 6-speaker audio system. The infotainment system offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with navigation, voice recognition, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Sirius XM, and Bluetooth connectivity for multiple devices. There is a wireless phone charger, two USB-A and one USB-C charging ports in front, as well as two USB-A charging ports in the second row. A 7-speaker Harman Kardon Premium audio system is standard on the SX Touring models.
